REGAN ROUSSEAU

Artist / Songwriter
Nashville, Tennessee

A 26-year-old artist/songwriter at the apex of country, folk, and Americana pop, Regan Rousseau is the epitome of Nashville’s emerging next generation. Her emotionally-driven work combines organic sounds of the past with a touch of sleek, understated sophistication, and speaks to a life rich in rootsy self-reflection – not to mention total, unfiltered honesty. “Obsessed with lyrics” and raised early on in Southern Maryland, Rousseau moved to SoCal in middle school and quickly learned to embrace standing out – a country girl in the land of sunshine pop, scanning the radio for Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Alison Krauss and Taylor Swift. Moving to Music City at 18, she graduated from Belmont University’s songwriting program in 2019 and broke through creatively during the lockdown of 2020. Writing about romantic false starts, the search for self acceptance and more, her vivid, no-B.S. style is delivered with a silky, soft-focus vocal and deeply-engaging soul, pulling on the same confessional thread as contemporaries like Kelsea Ballerini, Sabrina Carpenter, Kacey Musgraves and more. Almost 10 years since she first arrived in Nashville, Rousseau has now scored several cuts from independent artists, and with a handful of self-released tracks in the rearview, momentum is building behind her. Rousseau continues to perform at writer’s rounds in Nashville while writing and recording tracks for a new chapter, kicking off in 2024.
